Jhalod is a well known town in the district of Dahod, in Gujarat state. It is one of the historically and commercially important cities in Gujarat and is situated on the eastern border of the state. During the British rule in India, it was one of the five mahals of the Panchmahal district in the Bombay Province. At the center of the town there is a military fort called Gadi. During the Dandi March of Mahatma Gandhi, many freedom fighters had taken an active part and had brought salt from Dandi.
